This Wednesday the 9th of March is OCUFA’s annual Social Media Day of Action in Support of Contract Faculty and Other Precarious Workers on Campuses.
This year, OCUFA’s materials are specifically designed to support the nine faculty associations that are bargaining for a better deal for contract faculty—including our own.
Below please find three quick ways you can show support for CAS on Wednesday (the last one doesn’t require a social media account).
In solidarity,
Honor
Follow the SJU ASA on Twitter. The SJU ASA has joined Twitter to better connect with members and with other faculty associations. If you are on Twitter, please follow @sjuasa and amplify our Tweets on Wednesday and throughout bargaining.
On Wednesday, Tweet one (or more) of OCUFA’s ready-made messages, or write your own Tweet. You can add one of the two OCUFA Twitter Graphics attached.
Option I:
A commitment to workplace equity means job security, equal pay and benefits for contact faculty and all precarious workers.
We need fairness for contract faculty now.

Option II:
Precarious workers at #OnPSE are committed to their jobs, students, and communities.
Administrations need to put their commitment to equitable workplaces into action and provide fairness for contract faculty and all precarious #OnPSE workers.

Option III:
Equity-deserving groups are overrepresented in precarious jobs including contract faculty across the country.
A commitment to #EDI means fairness for contract faculty and all precarious workers.

Post OCUFA’s LEARN Announcement graphic about contract faculty (attached) on your course LEARN pages this week as an announcement for students, many of whom don’t know what contract faculty are.
